An 87-year-old man from the northern province of Phu Tho tests positive for SARS-CoV-2 while receiving treatment for another disease at the E Hospital in Hanoi. Following this, the patient is swiftly transferred to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases to undergo further treatment.
Due to the detection of the positive case, the E Hospital is put into isolation from 8 p.m. on August 19, with disinfection work carried out throughout the entire hospital.
The main entrance to the E Hospital is closed.
Ass. Prof. Dr. Luong Ngoc Khue, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment under the Ministry of Health, states that approximately 100 medical workers have been identified as F1 cases.
