Both sides shared their experience in controlling COVID-19 in each country and emphasized the importance of strengthening the two countries’ cooperation in all fields, especially in economics, in the new situation.
Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh announced that Vietnam is considering reopening commercial flights to a number of countries including the Republic of Korea.
He proposed that the RoK increase cooperation within the framework of ASEAN – RoK and Mekong – RoK mechanisms, focusing on pilot projects, so as to contribute to sustainable development of the Mekong sub-region.
Hailing Vietnam’s initial success in controlling the COVID-19 epidemic, Foreign Minister Kang voiced his support for measures to be taken to assist businesses and boost investment in Vietnam.
He thanked Vietnam for creating favourable conditions for RoK businesses and experts to enter the country and affirmed that the RoK will actively participate in cooperation mechanisms of ASEAN and the Mekong sub-region in the near future.
